SalonShares — Logistics
A Chair When You Need One. Income When You Don't.
SalonShares connects beauty professionals looking for professional workspace with salon owners who have chairs or spaces available — by the hour, day, week, or month.
For Stylists
Work without being tied to one chair.
Not every stylist needs a full-time chair. Sometimes you just need a professional space for a few hours, a day, or a stretch of time — without a lease, without a commitment, and without giving up your independence.

Working only certain days
Not ready for a full-time rental commitment
For Salon Owners
Your empty chair has value.
A salon owner may have unused chairs during certain hours, certain days, vacations, or slower periods. SalonShares lets you make a chair available only when you want to — and you never have to permanently give up control of it. You decide when it's shared, what it costs, and what's included.
Why SalonShares Exists
The story behind the share.

Story One
As a younger hairstylist traveling and staying in hostels, I frequently met people who became interested when they learned I was a hairstylist from New York City.
They would ask what I thought they should do with their hair. Sometimes I could have actually done their hair, but I had nowhere professional to work.
Back then, finding a chair would have meant calling salons one by one and asking whether someone would let an unknown visiting stylist use their salon. There was no simple system for it.
Those people could have become clients, friends, and today perhaps even long-term social-media connections. It also could have provided substantial extra vacation money while traveling.
Story Two
Later, I became a salon owner myself. I opened a salon on the 10th floor of a building. I was young and didn't know any better. Fortunately, I already had clientele.
I had my own chair and two additional chairs. There were times those additional chairs sat unused and could have generated extra income toward rent and salon expenses.
Eventually I brought regular stylists into the salon. The salon became crowded and the extra chairs were permanently occupied. That meant I effectively only had one chair available for myself and sometimes couldn't accommodate as many of my own clients as I wanted.
I realized I liked having my own space while also enjoying the company and energy of other hairstylists sometimes. What I really needed was flexibility. SalonShares would have allowed me to rent those chairs only when I wanted company or didn't need them, while keeping them available for myself when necessary.

You don't have to choose between an empty chair and permanently giving up your space. Share it when it works for you.
